So we walked back to the guest house and made arrangements for another night. We mostly acted like tourists for the day. We boarded Tram 28
And had a tram tour of old Lisbon...the tram was very full...folks waiting to get on
Vista
And a view as we walked back to the guest house
We had a nice visit with a couple from Vancouver, also staying at the guest house, that had spent 3 weeks touring Portugal using public transport. They loved their trip
In the evening we walked up the street to a restaurant that the girl at the front desk recommended. We had fish ....so good!
Monday morning, October 11, we again had breakfast and made our way to the Canadian embassy hoping to sort out the passport issue. They were very helpful....not a process I would recommend to anyone...after 2 hours we paid a big fee and left with the promise of a new passport to be shipped to a contact point in Santiago . While there we met a couple, from Edmonton, he had his passport pick pocketed on the exact same tram we were on the day before. Unfortunately they had to rebook all of their flights as they were hoping to leave tomorrow . Mr Edmonton has a brother in Lacombe....such a small world...still.
We hopped on a train to Porto, as we have lost quite a few days and glided at a smooth 222kph! We arrived in Porto and it began to pour rain....of all things. We grabbed a taxi that delivered us to our B &B....the owner guy greeted us with a flask of home made port and cookies! So nice.
Today is also our young sons birthday , hugs to him!
We will see what tomorrow brings!
